For English-taught courses, students are required to pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

For German-taught courses, students need to achieve the C1 level of German proficiency level certificate.

Students who obtain a higher education entrance qualification that is NOT considered as equivalent to the German school-leaving qualification such as:

Malaysian Matriculation

For German-taught courses, students have not yet achieved the C1 level of German proficiency level certificate.

Students need to attend Studienkollegs, public educational institutions in Germany which offer preparatory courses (foundation year courses) for international students hoping to study at a German university.
