Tuition fees in South Korea can vary significantly depending on the university, program, and level of study. Generally, public universities have lower tuition fees compared to private institutions. Tuition fees for undergraduate programs at public universities can range from approximately RM14,200 to RM34,000 per year, while fees at private institutions may be higher, often exceeding RM47,500 annually.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

Korean Universities offer many accommodation options such as dormitories and off-campus for Malaysian students. Rental usually ranges from 190,000 won (RM650) per month, inclusive of utilities and Wifi. You might wish to take a look at the university housing options before looking into a private residence. When compared to renting your home, these costs are typically more reasonable, and meals may also be covered. A single-room apartment costs between 300,000 - 1,000,000 won (RM1,100 - RM3,500) per month if you choose your own place. The public transit options include buses, taxis and the underground. Your food prices will depend on your lifestyle, but you can set aside a monthly budget of about 500,000 won (RM1,800) for food and drink expenses.

Universities also charge application fees ranging from 86,500 to 2,310,000 won (RM300 - RM800). Make sure to check the tuition fees with your destination school. You can also inquire if there are any scholarships to help you fund your education.

 

Besides tuition, you’ll also need to prove that you can fund your living expenses for at least one year. For undergraduate programs, the minimum bank balance requirement is generally higher compared to graduate programs. It is advisable to have a bank balance of at least RM48,000 or more. This amount is an approximation and may vary depending on the university and specific circumstances.
